WWE Superstars Showcase

And we kick things off tonight with The Gold Standard Shelton Benjamin vs. Wr. Woo Woo Whack Zack Ryder with his girl Rosa in his corner. Zack starts the match off by talking smack but quickly rolls out of the ring when SB runs at him. The ref starts the count but Ryder grabs the ropes pulling himself up only to have Benjamin flip him inside the ring. The two lock up and Ryder goes for a vertical suplex only to have it reversed into a neck breaker. Good job SB! The two are back and forth until Zack tries to throw SB out of the ring but he skins the cat (nice move!) before they both go over the top taking us to our first…
Commercial break!
We are back from the break and the two arch rivals are still at it. Zack has the upper hand now with SB locked in submission. Benjamin fights out of the hold and…I’m sorry but Zack needs to fix his pants. I hate that I can almost see part of his ass cheek. Okay. SB is out of the hold and is building momentum with some rights followed by tossing Zack into a corner for a splash. And…Rosa’s phone just rang. Or maybe Zack’s phone just rang and she…um…right. She gets into the ring to hand Zack the phone but SB gets distracted.
Winner: Zack Ryder via Pinfall
Match Rating: ** ½ Stars. Lame ending. WTF? A phone call costs SB the match?
A Batista vs. Rey video package plays.
V-v-v-v Vikki? Oh noes! *mutes tv*
I’m assuming she just announced Eric Escobar, but the two of them are now making their way to the ring.
“Does Vikki Guerrero have fragile emotions?‖Todd
“You can hear it in her voice.†–Striker
And he’s facing Jimmy Wang Yang, the Asian Redneck. Talk about your bad stereotypes. I’m from Georgia and I don’t talk like that.
So some fighting is going on and Jimmy isn’t going to win this match.
Winner: Eric Escobar via Pinfall
Match Rating: Um…I’m not sure. Didn’t pay too much attention to it.
Commercial break!
Replay of the MSG video package from Monday night. They added some stuff from Raw and I must say the WWE has some kick ass editors. Great highlight vid.
Commercial break!
Our main event comes from the Raw side of things. Cody Rhodes is taking on Mark Henry. I laugh and…since when is Cody from my home state of Georgia? Hmm…I need to go on a road trip during the holidays. I don’t really see this match ending well for Cody but Teddy was seen backstage with him earlier so he has a fighting chance via interference.
And just like I figured, Cody is getting tossed around the ring like a doll. Meanwhile Cole and King are plugging the hell out of Survivor Series right now. Cody has been tossed out of the ring taking us to yet another…
Commercial break!
I am so freaking sleepy so forgive me if I don’t pay much more attention to the squashing of Cody Rhodes. Apparently he was losing during the break and he’s still losing after it. Therefore I am going to recite random lines from some of my favorite classic stories or poems until the match is over.
“Now is the winter of our discontent made glorious by this son of York.†–William Shakespeare
“…she should have died hereafter; there would have been time for such a word…†–William Shakespeare
“Words. Words. Words.†–William Shakespeare
“…suddenly there came a tapping as if someone gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door…only this and nothing more.†–Edgar Allan Poe
Cody now has Henry in some kind of leg lock.
And while I’m thinking about it, if you haven’t been paying attention to TWD’s Top 50 then you are missing out. You must check out the list and get in on the discussions. Whether you agree or not, the top 50 makes for great debates. Just check out the comment thread and you’ll see what I mean.
“Oh judgment! Thou art fled to brutish beasts…â€
Oh wow. It’s finally over.
Winner: Mark Henry via Pinfall
Match Rating: * star. Squash match basically.

No commercial spotlights?
Superstars still looks boring. First they have a lame ending Mickie vs. Natalya last week, now a stupid phone call? Who writes this stuff?
Not this time. I had to stay up and catch the 12am rerun since I had to work last night. I could barely stay awake let alone search for funny commercials. But they’ll be back with a vengeance next week
And you know it’s not me writing that crap. I can do better
Cool.
Yeah, we can all do better, but you know they’re not gonna pick us over the hollywood writers or wherever they’re from. They may be good business men, but what they lack GREATLY is creativity. Funny how all these lame endings take place after Shane O’Mac is gone, and the buildup to Survivor Series.
A phone call! LMFAO.
Who wrote that finish?!
Honestly, even though it was ridiculous, it was well executed.
Rosa went to give Ryder the phone and was on the ring apron, bouncing her arm on the top rope. It slipped from her hand and Ryder grabbed it.
Granted I don’t think any Diva is that dumb to ACT… that dumb.
I don’t like Rosa. Her voice annoys me. I thought the whole thing was stupid but that’s just me.
Rosa and Zack are awesome in their atrociousness. They are just that idiotic couple who is oblivious to what everyone else thinks of them. In reality, they might be better than most of us, as they don’t care about outside perception.
Superstars was pretty MEH this week.
I’ll start off this thread. Honestly, I do still believe TNA is the more entertaining and better product. That said, neither should be classified as a “great” promotion at this point in the game.
I would also go TNA, maybe because WWE is so oversaturated. They wouldn’t have to be, but they don’t seem able to write any great stories except for the top card (and those aren’t always that great).
Well I see you already have some answers. My personal opinion? WWE. Their overall product still trumps TNA in just about every way though in TNA’s defense, they seem to be heading in the right direction. (At least these past 3 weeks anyway.) While Raw is still mostly two hours of circus acts and pointless comedy, they are still pretty consistent with their PPVs. Plus, SD and ECW are both wrestling centered which in my view, makes up for Raw’s comedy hour. But again, MY humble opinion.
I’m just waiting for TNA to gain popularity so it puts pressure on the WWE to put out a better product. I think they have gotten comfortable in their programming and they need to be challenged.
